Northwest Water Systems is looking to fill a full time Water System Field Technician position Our ideal candidate should live within the Tacoma/King County area, is honest, hard-working, enjoys problem solving, is self-motivated, forward thinking, works very well independently, pays attention to details, and is a good communicator. We are looking for a career minded individual with a willingness to learn. A qualified candidate needs both a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record (one or less speeding ticket or accident on your driving abstract). Your criminal history must be disclosed. WDM1 certification and/or construction/plumbing/water experience is desired. Daytime availability is required 8-5 during the week. Hours have the potential to be flexible. This role also requires being on-call. This role includes: • Driving to multiple water systems • Taking water samples • Monitoring water pumps, and treatment equipment • Lifting 50 pound bags of salt • Working with chlorine • Climbing ladders/reservoirs (heights) • Reading engineering plans & interpreting maps • Operating valves • Flushing fire hydrants • Taking meter readings • Basic math skills, Must be accurate with numbers. • High level of comfort w/computer • Inputting work order information into a laptop • Taking Geo-coordinates • Must have the ability to communicate well with customers in the field. • Making basic to moderate repairs • Troubleshooting skills, and much more.
