The Beecher Cooperative, Inc. is looking to hire a part-time Custodian to help us maintain the cleanliness of our buildings and grounds. Our cooperative includes six low-rise apartment buildings all on one block in a quiet corner of Glover Park (between Georgetown and the National Cathedral). The Custodian can expect to work 15-20 hours per week to clean hallways, common areas, entryways/exits, a community room, and a single restroom. We will favor candidates who can complete the task in less time. Compensation: $17/hr Hours are flexible except for trash and recycling days (Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday) when AM collection and removal is required. This is a key aspect of this position. The ideal candidate for this position: • Is trustworthy. • Has an eye for detail. • Is capable of working independently. • Is able to lift 50 lbs. • Works quickly through routine tasks. • Has good communication skills. • Is able to take on additional responsibilities, including (but not limited to): -Groundskeeping -Winter weather preparedness and response -Painting -Minor repairs This is an ideal position for someone: • Looking to supplement their income with consistent supply of work on a relatively flexible schedule. • Looking for an AM job before heading to work in the afternoon/evening.
