The operator is responsible for setting the depth and width of the asphalt as it is laid by the paving machine. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Has responsibility for setting the depth and width of the asphalt. It is a critical part of the road building process, as the depth must be exact to the specifications. • Shovels asphalt into holes in the surface and/or areas where the paving machine cannot access. • Provides excellent internal customer service. Exceeds internal customers’ expectations of services. • Follows all safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards. • Performs related work as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Requirement Experience: Two years related experience on an asphalt crew Additional Requirements: Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team.
