Bi-Lingual Auto Body Shop Service Writer/Manager for Maaco Santa Maria : Primarily looking for self-motivated and energetic individual to fill a position as Shop Manager/Service Writer. The primary responsibilities will be estimating vehicle repairs and managing day to day shop production activities. Responsible to estimate automotive body repairs by ascertaining body damage; developing estimates; preparing work orders; contacting insurance companies and maintaining customer rapport. Previous success in sales and leadership skills are a must along with a positive attitude. Customer service and communication skills are a must. Candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Candidate must be able to work at production shop pace and be able to demonstrate concern for quality. Experience in single stage and base coat/clear coat finishes is preferred. Dependability and ability to adapt are necessary for the right candidate. Position is full-time. References are required. Autobody Technician (Bodyman) Requirements: Evaluating automotive bodies by planning repairs, replacing and refinishing parts, maintaining tools and equipment and maintain records. Maintains quality service by following repair standards and conducting test drive, final inspection and correcting deficiencies. Documents actions by completing records. Maintains tools and equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs. Repairs automotive bodies by removing, fabricating, attaching, and aligning parts, repairing dents, filling and sealing depressions, hammering, shaping, shrinking, expanding, filing, grinding, sanding, smoothing and feathering surfaces. Applies repair techniques and tools including wrenches, cutting torch, dent puller, hand, pneumatic and power tools, grinder, sander, welder, straightener, power, foot and hand shear, brake, drill press, drills, etc. Should have conceptual skills, verbal communication, welding and fabrication, power tools, basic safety and safety management, equipment maintenance, functional and technical skills, automotive manufacturing and attention to detail.
