Samantha is a robust gal who still has a lot of puppy left in her and is ready to go. At 9 months old she weighs about 40lbs, is brindle-brown, short haired, muscular and full of energy. She loves her humans and wants to be with them. Samantha walks well on leash and does well at dog parks. Although not a barker, she does bark at random people, especially when in the car, and barks at visitors in the home. I do think she can be trained out of this behavior. She is very treats-motivated. She is coming from a shelter and we haven’t had many visitors since COVID so she hasn't had a lot of experience with strangers. Samantha is smart, playful, loves her toys, and LOVES the water. She would do well in a home where she is the only pet (cat might be okay) and lives with very active people. She was rescued from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico when she and her sister were found abandoned after their owner died. She is being fostered in Portland.
There is an adoption fee on $450, which includes the cost of flying Samantha up to Portland, wellness checkups both here and in Mexico by licensed veterinarians, all shots up to date, spayed and chipped. If approved you can take her home overnight to see if she is a good fit.
