A DAY IN THE LIFE AS AN AGENCY COLLECTOR: BHK wants our Agency Collectors to come into the office with a strong, positive and dynamic attitude to negotiate, problem solve and communicate effectively while managing their queue of accounts. An Agency Collector is expected to meet the daily demands of communicating professionally with individuals, businesses, and clients. An Agency Collector must be persistent, thorough, and detail oriented. Experience: ~Sales and or Phone experience very helpful, ~One year collection experience a plus JOB DUTIES WILL INCLUDE: ~Communicate with the consumers by telephone to determine the reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sale, service or credit contract with the consumer ~Research consumer's financial standing and origin of debt ~Research consumer background including but not limited to; business organizations, personal and marital status, place of employment (POE), assets and sources of income ~Track all verbal and written correspondence with consumer including the status of collection efforts via our software ~Contact consumer to negotiate payment in full, settlements or set up monthly payments ~Complete training and pass the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) Test MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Sufficient formal and/or informal training to provide the ability to read and write at a level consistent with the requirements of the position; • High School diploma (or GED) plus any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skill and knowledge for the successful performance of this position. *KNOWLEDGE OF: • Proper use of grammar, punctuation, spelling, basic mathematics, standard types of office filing systems, proper telephone etiquette and techniques, standard office equipment • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access) • Application of data processing in the maintenance of records and reports • The ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and in writing *SKILL AND ABILITY TO: • Work cooperatively and effectively with Management, fellow employees, and the public • Contribute to and assist in maintaining a positive culture • Demonstrate genuine commitment to being a part of the team • Effectively manage time and attendance as to not strain the Company • Practice exemplary interpersonal skills such as respect, courtesy, and patience • Exercise critical thinking, independent and professional decision making with discretion and judgment PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
