Female Vocalist

Kailua HI

Description

Looking For A Strong Female Vocalist: Please read this ad thoroughly. I am seeking a very specific type of person for this role. I have been very detailed in an effort to save all of us time and effort. If you meet the criteria outlined, and it sounds like something you are interested in, let’s get together and see if the music melds. The Project: I have been playing professionally for 35 years, 10 of those here in Hawaii. I sing and play acoustic and electric guitar and have a song list of approximately 2500 songs. I can play almost any request and enjoy ALL genres of music from Classic Rock, Contemporary Rock, Reggae, Hawaiian, Irish, and Country music, not necessarily in that order. I have a very nice, small PA with a pair of QSC powered Speakers that sound wonderful. I also know how to work an audience for requests and tips, so we will make pretty good money at each gig but I really want to have something special. What I Am Seeking: Ideally I would like to perform a duo with someone who is a VERY strong vocalist, who is confident performing in front of people, and can meld easily with me and my sense of humor, which is pretty sharp, and work an audience. If you play an instrument, even better, but not necessary. Harmonies are a MUST. I want to play really popular songs and play them well. We both need to agree on the song in order for it to make it into our repertoire, with a few personal exceptions for each of us. For me, it’s all about entertaining people and really giving them what THEY want and giving them a great experience. Numerous times I have had people come up to tip me and say, I came in for one drink and stayed for xxx. The Gig and The Catch: I currently have a fantastic duo with a young woman who is leaving the island in July/August, so you will have some time to get up to speed with our repertoire. We are playing now, have a regular Saturday night gig in Kailua, and are playing some really nice venues. Our current song list is below, and it is very strong. Here is the HUGE catch though. I do NOT want to gig more than once or twice a week as I do have a real job, so I prefer not to work with a vocalist who has to play out every night to earn a living or is gigging with multiple groups/artists. Trust me, if I could earn the living I need to earn playing music, I would, but it is just not possible for me in this town. So, please be gainfully employed or at least not a gigging vocalist with a lot of other bands. It just gets too complicated to book gigs and have a steady, reliable act you can book on the fly. Mahalo for getting this far. If I have NOT scared you away as of yet, you may be exactly what I am looking for. Please respond with audio/video clip(s) of you performing and a list of your top 10 "go to" songs. I will contact you to see if you would like to get together and jam to see how we meld.
