We are looking for a knowledgeable Plant Maintenance Technician to assume maintenance of our many residential and corporate client buildings throughout the greater NYC area. A deep understanding of interior plants and optimal plant environments is a must. We are looking for a thorough professional with a practical mind and great attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing the state of all live plants and green wall installations. The goal is to make sure environments are maintained to our incredibly high standards. ---Responsibilities---- -Survey buildings and environment conditions as they apply to optimal plant health. -Identifying causes for poor plant health as they pertain to the environment they are in. -Perform maintenance of all plant matter including: pruning, watering, treating plants for disease and pests, replacing planting materials such as soil and filler as needed, etc. -Assist in the setup and installation of new plants. -Assist the sales team in the creation of proposals based on personal assessment of client spaces. -Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned. ----Skills---- -Proven experience as plant technician or time spent in horticulture certification programs. -Basic understanding of horticulture practices. -Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods -Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices as they pertain to plant maintenance. -Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. -Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime. -High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in landscaping, horticulture, or relevant field will be a plus -Must have a valid driver license!
