The Harvard iGEM team will be hosting a 1-on-1 conversation with Professor Daniel G. Nocera, the Patterson Rockwood Professor of Energy at Harvard University and a leading researcher in renewable energy. The inventor of the artificial leaf (2011 Time Magazine Innovation of the Year) and bionic leaf, Professor Nocera pioneered the "solar fuels" process of photosynthesis—the splitting of water to hydrogen and oxygen using light from neutral water—at atmospheric pressure and room temperature and at efficiencies of greater than 10%.
