In this training we will look more closely at trauma research and theories, and interventions.
For 2021 this is PENDING approval for 6.0 CEs by the KY LMFT Board. It is approved for 6 CEs with the SW, Psychology and LPC Boards.
We suggest attending the "Developmental Trauma - Introduction" before attending this training.
In “Developmental Trauma – Advanced” we will look more closely at trauma research and theories set forth by current neuro-psychiatrists, neurologists, and leading expressive arts therapists. We will also look at principles of more traditional trauma-focused models and trauma-informed care to work through the whole brain in order to heal overwhelming traumatic experiences of childhood that occurred pre-verbally. This training is largely experiential so that participants get hands on experience with interventions incorporating expressive media and play, and more cognitive interventions proposed by other trauma-based EBP’s. We will explore the role that memory has in the treatment of trauma.
