TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's two-week positive coronavirus test rate fell to just 3.98 percent in the latest town-by-town report from the state Thursday, keeping it firmly in the moderate-risk, or yellow, category. The town had a two-week test rate of 3.36 percent in last week's report. There were 126 cases in the last two weeks according to the state report, versus 153 in last week's report. The latest cases bring Tewksbury to 2,809 total. >>MA Town-By-Town Coronavirus Stats: Just 28 High-Risk Communities The number of cities and towns designated high risk for the coronavirus fell by more than half in Thursday's town-by-town state data report, the latest in the dramatic decline of the virus in recent weeks. The seven-day average positive test rate for the state fell to 1.85 percent, the lowest level since Oct. Statewide case counts, hospitalizations and deaths also all fell. There were 1,928 new confirmed cases and 33 deaths Thursday. Last week the town-by-town report labeled 66 communities at high risk for the virus. This week there were only 28 such communities.
