Press release from Canton Public Schools: February 24, 2021 Dear CPS Families and Staff: "Before February vacation, I described our intentions for bringing students on the Learning Continuum, currently in the Hybrid model, back into school and our desire to create an All-in Steering Committee to support the implementation of the All-in model and enhance the communication needed across all stakeholder groups. To the over 70 applicants, thank you for expressing interest in participating in the CPS All-in Steering Committee. After reviewing all the information provided by the applicants and seeking to create a committee with the most diverse perspectives and experiences, we decided on the following individuals across the multiple stakeholder groups. Parents/Guardians: Kristen Isaacs – 2 children, 3-5 (Hansen), 6-8 (Galvin Middle School) Craig Kowalski – 2 children, 3-5 (Luce) and 6-8 (Galvin Middle School) Stephen MacPherson – 3 children, K-2 (JFK), 3-5 (JFK) & 6-8 (Galvin Middle School) Jahnaa Scully – 2 children, K-2 (JFK), 3-5 (JFK) Tarah Somers – 3 children, K-2 (Luce), 6-8 (Galvin Middle School) and 9-12 (Canton High School) Student: Nidhi Chanchlani – 11th grade Educators: Catherine Eckersley – District K-12 Performing Arts Coordinator and Canton High School teacher Christine Giglio – Hansen, Kindergarten teacher Julie Ghostlaw – Galvin Middle School teacher Anne Malmquist – Canton High School teacher Yan Yii – CTA President and Hansen Grade 5 teacher Administrators: Lauren Pushard – Nurse Leader Sarah Shannon – Galvin Middle School Principal Barry Nectow – Business Administrator Derek Folan – Assistant Superintendent Jennifer Fischer-Mueller – Superintendent A review of the All-in model and a proposed timeline will be shared with the All-in Steering Committee the afternoon of Thursday, February 25, followed by the School Committee meeting at 7PM. More communication will be forthcoming. We believe the strong response to our request for All-in Steering Committee members is an expression of interest and support to advance our work in the Canton Public Schools on behalf of the well-being of all children.
