BOSTON — Boston Public Schools will begin reopening for its youngest students Monday and continue bringing the rest back throughout March, Mayor Marty Walsh announced Thursday morning.
Schools will reopen for students in preschool through third grade starting March 1.
Students in fourth grade to eighth grade will be welcomed back March 15.
All other students will be able to return to school March 29.
"We're making sure our classrooms and buildings are safe for students, teachers and staff," Walsh said.
Some of the safety measures include air purifiers and air quality testing, medical-grade PPE for all staff and disposable masks for all students and staff.
Families will still have the option of full-remote learning.
Thousands of high-needs students are currently in class, but for many thousands of others, it will be the first time they get back to school in almost a year.
