BEL AIR, MD — People who need their phones, drones and computers repaired have a new option for repair in Bel Air. uBreakiFix is now open at Tollgate Marketplace. The store is part of a franchise that operates more than 600 locations in North America since its founding in 2009. In Bel Air the newly opened shop is near Party City at the shopping center at the intersection of MD 24 and US 1. uBreakiFix touts itself as the spot for fixing anything with a power button. "I have been a part of the Bel Air community for 34 years," John Lorden, owner of uBreakiFix Bel Air, said in a statement. "I know the people here and their needs, and could not be more excited to give back to this community through uBreakiFix. I fell in love with the company's mission of serving technology users to keep them connected, and am excited to bring that offering to Bel Air." The store specializes in technology like smartphones and tablets but will repair anything with a power button, from vintage arcade games to light-up Christmas sweaters. Common problems that bring customers in are shattered screens, camera issues and software. "Opening uBreakiFix Bel Air came as part of a career switch for me and I have high hopes for the future of this store," said Lorden. " Here in Bel Air, I want to not only provide much needed repair services, but also create a welcoming environment with a family-friendly atmosphere." Millennial entrepreneurs Justin Wetherill and David Reiff founded uBreakiFix to fill a gap in the market for affordable phone repair, according to a statement from the company, which became a subsidiary of tech protection corporation Asurion in 2019, Samsung authorized provider in 2018 and exclusive Google Pixel service provider in 2016. "We founded this company to fill a need for high-quality, convenient repair with great service at a fair price," Wetherill said in a statement. "We always say we're a customer service company first, and a tech company second. As we begin serving Bel Air and the surrounding communities, we look forward to sharing the care and credibility that define the uBreakiFix experience." uBreakiFix is at 626 Market Place Drive, Bel Air, MD 21014.
