Sottile Theatre at the College of Charleston Join the Preservation Society of Charleston and noted art conservator, Catherine Rogers, as we explore the recent restoration of the Sottile Theatre on the campus of the College of Charleston. Once known as the Gloria Theater, it was designed as a great movie palace in 1927 by Richmond architect C.K. Howell. The tour will include a history of the theatre and an in-depth discussion about the restoration process of the original murals that had been covered for decades by acoustic paneling.
