Description
Are you looking for small group, private education for your little one? We are a homeschool pod of preschool children aged 2-4. Our school day runs from 8:30am to 12pm, Monday - Friday. We have hired an expert preschool teacher to provide our children with the best possible educational experience. Our school pod runs out of a private family home in Encino. Mostly outdoor learning, curriculum to be flexible and inspired by our students’ natural curiosity. Activities to include: -Hands-on, experiential learning. No screen time. -Main focus is on kindness, patience, togetherness/cooperation, sharing, love, and gratitude -Environmental Responsibility: Experience nature, plant seeds and take care of them regularly, learn about the earth, recycling, composting, etc. -Respect and compassion for animals and the environment is the cornerstone of our group. -Learning/singing songs -Art projects corresponding with current learning topics -Physical activities: dance, sports/games, etc. -“Cooking” class (very basic, safe tasks only) Here is our teacher's learning philosophy: "I think that children learn best through play-based, hands-on, relatable and relevant learning opportunities with a focus on nurturing a strong sense of self and identity. Developing socio-emotional skills is a high priority of mine, as we are social beings and I feel that is the basis of a high quality of life, including the ability to form secure and lasting relationships with oneself and with others. Teaching through an empathic lens is foundational. I am also a proponent of engaging children in matters that matter to them and actively listening through observation and reflection to understand a child and their needs so I can best serve them. Incorporating as many open-ended materials and loose parts for children to experiment and explore with is a cornerstone of my teaching approach as that enables all children to be successful at whatever their personal goals are. My motivation is to be a guide, coach, and cheerleader as I support children in discovering and unleashing their fullest natural potential. It gives me great joy to bring out the best in children, to embrace their inborn curiosity and desire to "experience." I seek to extract their innate abilities, build upon them, and foster an utmost positive perception of themselves." *** Our full time students pay $1000 per month (we have a phenomenal, experienced teacher leading the group, and it's important we pay her appropriately). Part-time students are $500/month for 2 days a week, or $600/month for 3 days a week. We start soon, and we are looking for 2 or 3 more kids to join our group!
