By Elizabeth Ireland, Times of San Diego February 24, 2021 The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reported 454 new cases of coronavirus Tuesday and 29 more deaths from the pandemic disease. It was the 12th consecutive day with fewer than 1,000 new cases. Of 10,900 tests reported Tuesday, 4% returned positive, decreasing the 14-day average positive percentage to 4.6% from Monday's 4.7%. Virus-related hospitalizations continue to decline, dropping to 620 patients — 194 of whom are in intensive care units. One community outbreak was reported Tuesday, with 23 reported in the past week and 92 cases associated with those outbreaks. The county's adjusted rate of daily new COVID cases dropped to 15 per 100,000 residents, according to state data released Tuesday.
