Description

Press release from Oak Lawn Community High School: The National Art Honor Society recently hosted two free virtual art camps: one in December and one in February. During these camps OLCHS students took on the role of teacher for participants grades six to eight. The camp offered a choice of three different projects that young artists were able to choose from. These opportunities allowed for our students to take on leadership roles and share their artistic talents with possible future Spartans. Utilizing common art materials, this activity was accessible to all students. We received positive feedback from both NAHS members as well as the students and families who participated. We are in talks with our members to offer another session in the spring. "We were so proud watching our NAHS students take on the role of teachers," said Mrs. Clark. "They demonstrated patience, leadership and excitement for the arts." This press release was produced by Oak Lawn Community High School. The views expressed here are the author's own.
