PLEASANTON, CA — After being elected to office in November, Pleasanton Mayor Karla Brown is set to deliver her first State Of the City of Pleasanton Address, which will take place virtually at noon on March 9, chamber of commerce officials have announced. The two-term Pleasanton city councilwoman currently serves on multiple city and regional committees in her capacity as mayor. In her duties within city government, the 28-year Pleasanton resident has worked as an associate broker and real estate agent since 2002 and has held her broker's license since 2007. Brown has also volunteered as a RAGE youth soccer coach and has also volunteered with several community organizations including the Tri-Valley Conservancy, Hively, the Valley Humane Society and has also served on several local school committees. "We're all excited to hear what Mayor Brown has to say in her inaugural State of the City address," Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Steve Van Dorn said in a news release announcing the address. "Given the current circumstances with the pandemic, we are pleased to be able to offer this virtual format for the Mayor to reach Pleasanton businesses and residents alike with her address." The virtual event is a collaborative effort between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, with Tri-Valley TV partnering in production. Online registration in advance is required at www.pleasanton.org. The cost for the event is $25 per attendee through February 28 and will increase to $35 beginning on March 1. A Zoom link will be sent to registrants prior to the event. Sponsors of the event include Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, John Muir Health, Lawrence Livermore National Security, Sensiba San Filippo and Stanford Health Care-ValleyCare. A limited number of sponsorships are still available, which includes a VIP Virtual Networking Reception prior to the event, officials said.
