SoCalifornia - How did it ever get to this point? 😵 Owen was a happy boy when adopted, everyone was very carefully screened, interviewed, checked and double-checked - yet the adopter failed Owen. 😩😩😩 No one is perfect - the stress levels at home ran high, the unpredictable CoVid quarantines, shutting down 2 family businesses, losing possibly their home - a lot of anxiety leading to Owen's future no longer a priority, and changing for the worse. He being a lone dog 🐾 no kids in the house, feeling tension on the home front, Owen was not getting the pack interaction and social skills needed to develop into a balanced dog. His behavioral training was postponed at the time he needed it most. This can be so confusing to a dog. His "owners" were discussing bringing him to the city shelter or euthanizing him. Though they have given up on him, we will not fail this boy and are intervening on his behalf. He does not deserve to die because his "leadership" is at a loss about how to handle the situation. They are surrendering Owen to our rescue and we are making a loud shout out to the village, please come together to help this boy. Our goal is to get Owen immediately into pro-training, his reactions are fear based and Owen can have the chance to finally learn to experience what a qualified handler and pack leader will do for him.
