Description

Press release from the City of Dayton: February 24, 2021 Due to the pandemic, 2020 was a rough year for the City of Dayton financially. To combat the fallout and the significant drop in General Fund Revenue, all City departments were required to make cuts. City Manager Dickstein talked with the Dayton Daily News yesterday about the cuts made to the Human Relations Council. As noted, the Human Relations Council has 12 filled positions across different funding sources. This is 3 fewer positions than 2020. As a Commission Agency, restoration of these positions is at the discretion of the City Commission. For the past several months, the City has been engaged in the Police Reform process. Pending the outcome of these community discussions a decision on future resources for these programs will be made by the City Commission. Funding of $150,000 was identified in the 2021 budget for these initiatives. Dayton Daily News Article This press release was produced by the City of Dayton.
