We are a long standing family owned and operated full service Termite and Pest Control company looking for an termite repair technician/apprentice or wood repair trades person. Under the supervision of an Experienced Field Representative and; skilled wood repair journeyman the general responsibilities for this position are : *Chemically treating and/or repairing structural damage on a variety structures. *Some customer service/relations. *Ensuring that jobs are done legally, professionally, and within specifications. *Maintain company issued equipment and vehicle in a clean condition at all times. *Read and understand label instructions regarding treatment procedures as well as work diagrams and plans. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: *Familiar with construction methods, use of power tools and other equipment. Bonus if knowledgeable of current rules and regulations enacted by various governmental agencies (i.e., SPCB and Building Departments), and familiar with all types of wood destroying organisms, the types of damage they do, and how to effect control methods. *Must be able to operate company vehicles a, high pressure pumps, power saws, power drills, augers and other hand held power tools. *SPCB applicators license or field representative license preferred but not required. We are willing to train and license. Job Requirements: *Must have some indtroductory construction or carpentry experience. *Before beginning work, must pass a pre-employment, background check, present clean DMV record with an valid California State Drivers License and provide physical examination questionnaire (including fitness panel), and a lung capacity test if required to wear respirators. * Must have a knowledge of PPE and be prepared to practice safety standards recommended by the CDC, DPR, SPCB and other local government agencies. *Available to work a minimum Monday-Friday 7:30 am-4pm (some overtime and weekends required). *Must be physically have the physical capability of safely crawling and climbing. Will be required to lift heavy objects and sometimes transport them into attics or under structures. Must be able to fit in crawl spaces with a minimum clearance of 16". *While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. *The employee is occasionally required to use hands; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Work Environment: *You will work outdoors in all types of weather while working in areas that may be confined. *During a normal work day, you may inspect, crawl and work in sub-areas, basements and attics of structures and work with or around avicides, dessicants, fungicides, fumigants, herbicides, insecticides, miticides, propellants, rodenticides, termiticides and other materials commonly found in and around structures. *Safely handle and dispose of pesticides properly.
