16-mile loop walk along trails and urban areas in Mercer County, New Jersey Join us on the first day of spring for an annual tradition reimagined for our times. Urban walking, river views, trails and towpath. Discover new trails and territory in Mercer County, New Jersey, on this 16-mile loop starting and ending in Trenton. Start/end: Trenton War Memorial Building Parking: Patriots Theater lot (free) 16 miles Route highlights: Old Barracks State Capitol Calhoun St Bridge Roebling swing bridge# Stacy Park# Cadwalader Park* Johnson Trolley Trail* Ryder College* Dyson Tract* Return via East Coast Greenway on D&R Canal. * = new loop element added to existing route # = element added to Spring Ahead in 2020 This route stitches together parks and trails north of the Greenway to affect a loop, with a walk from Trenton to Lawrenceville and back instead of continuing to Princeton. Quick walk from the train station to the start. We will meet at the flagpole beside the War Memorial Building and Patriots Theater in Trenton, with free parking across the street at 25 Memorial Drive. The walk coordinator will meet those arriving by rail outside the north entrance to Trenton Transit Center at 8:50am for the quick walk to the start. This is a mitigated event.
