CHARLOTTE, NC — Two men have been arrested and charged for an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo Bank in south Charlotte last month, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Thursday. The heist took place shortly before 10 a.m. Jan. 28 at the Wells Fargo Bank branch located at 2910 South Boulevard. According to a police account, one of the suspects entered the bank, pulled out a gun and demanded money. When he left the bank, he ran towards Foster Avenue. "Information and evidence gathered at the scene helped detectives identify a possible suspect vehicle involved in the incident," CMPD said. The following day, a CMPD detective located the suspect vehicle in the 7300 block of Marcel Lane. An officer initiated a traffic stop, and arrested Jerell Mulkey, 29, who was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. Investigators identified Ramion Baker, 40, as the second suspect wanted in the case, and obtained warrants for his arrest. Baker was arrested Feb. 17 without incident, CMPD said. He was also charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. CMPD said the investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing, and that anyone with information is asked call 911.
