JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Caretaker/Groundskeeper’s primary role is to support the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Technicians in maintaining Park Avenue Center properties and grounds in good repair and appearance. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Day to day maintenance of agency facilities including vending refilling, patching /painting walls, carpet shampooing and some light cleaning and building upkeep as directed by Maintenance Manager to maintain professionally clean and maintained buildings. 2. Perform minor maintenance at programming buildings. 3. Participate in project work and assist other maintenance team members in major projects, repairs, painting and other aesthetic work. 4. Perform lawn work and snow removal as needed. 5. Set up and tear down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms. 6. Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures. 7. Provide assistance to staff, clients, visitors, and other individuals as necessary or requested. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Experience in building maintenance and/or one or more years painting experience or a strong desire to learn preferred. 2. Current MN Driver’s License. 3. Ability to display high levels of client service by responding promptly and thoroughly to the needs of both internal and external parties in accordance with Park Avenue Center standards and policies. 4. Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. 5. Must be detail-oriented and organized with effective time management skills. 6. Hear, speak and effectively communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions and communicating with parties inside and outside of the organization. 7. Must provide own transportation and basic hand tools. 8. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, squat, climb, lift, stand and walk frequently in the performance of responsibilities including prep and painting of interior and exterior surfaces.
