Trust Children’s Center () is an onsite, licensed child care center driven by a progressive belief that our children are the future. The opening of the on-site child care center provides a much needed resource in today’s modern work environment and enhances the family lives of its' employees. Trust Children's Center's curriculum incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) and the philosophies of the Outdoor Classroom into children's natural play. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a part-time Infant Teacher Assistant to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA caring and educating infants. We are looking for a team player who is energetic, motivated by team success and able to adapt to new processes and procedures quickly while providing high quality care to children. You must have a passion for educating children, while being adaptable as you work within a team teacher environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Besides playing an integral part to children's growth and development, you will perform the following duties under general supervision of the Program Director: • Assume responsibility for planning and implementing a quality program for young children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. • Ensure all children are accounted for and safe at all times. • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. • Establish a friendly, encouraging and welcoming environment. • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their goals for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development. • Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary classroom and outdoor area. • Attend an evening staff meeting and/or training once per month. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: • 1-2 years of experience in a licensed child care program. • 12+ units in Child Development/Early Childhood Education. • Child Development Permit - Preferred. • CPR/First Aide certified including fifteen hours of Health and Safety Training. • Ability to work as a team with other teachers in a multi-age setting with a willingness to be adaptable. • Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance. • Ability to effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities. Physical Demands: • Must be physically fit enough to regularly lift up to 50 pounds unassisted for duties such as carrying children and equipment. Must be able and comfortable with kneeling, bending, crawling and working in both and inside and outside environment.
