Texas Coffee Traders is an artisanal coffee roaster and local specialist in all things coffee. We are a fun, family roaster with a repair shop looking for an experienced Repair Technician to provide preventive maintenance, warranty work, repair services, and parts for coffee, tea, and espresso equipment for commercial and residential use. General Qualifications Must like coffee – tasting is the final step in most repairs Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications Demonstrable experience repairing espresso and brewing equipment Existing coffee knowledge and a desire to increase your knowledge base Willingness / ability to be involved with the emergency on-call rotation that includes nights and weekends Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (2 years) Duties and Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on commercial and domestic coffee equipment including, but not limited to, espresso machines, coffee brewers, and grinders. Demonstrate effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Effectively manage time and resources to control costs, enhance efficiencies, and meet commitments Communicate effectively with customers and staff members. Build strong customer relationships and build knowledge and understanding of new and existing customer needs/ expectations Attend appropriate technical and manufacturer training Obtain additional licenses and certifications as appropriate Take direction from supervisor and more experienced technicians Willingness and desire to share knowledge with other technicians Abilities, Skills, and Requirements Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull and reach above and below waist Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds up to 25 feet. Occasional lifting and carrying, with or without assistance, of items up to 70 pounds Ability to work in damp and/or humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and risk of electrical shock COVID-19 considerations: Employees only in the building and face masks must be worn at all times. Frequent sanitizing and tempurature checks. Covid policy agreement for service customers or anyone to enter the building.
