It's 2021 and AniMAtic Boston is back for some virtual artist talks and interviews! First on the list, an evening chat with Mitchell Gonzales (@mitchjgonzales). Mitchell Gonzales is based in Boston, where he grew up and studied animation, but that hasn't stopped him from working on some of the biggest shows from Japan. Mitchell got into the anime industry while still in school, and since then he's lent his talent as a key animator to episodes of One Piece, Black Clover, Boruto and so many more. We'll talk with Mitchell about how he went from anime fan to professional anime artist, the process involved in animating the intense, cinematic action scenes on those shows, and his experience working remotely for studios 7000 miles away, both before and during the pandemic.
