A relaxing late-morning restorative yoga practice accompanied by a sound journey followed by a nourishing gourmet Ayurvedic vegetarian lunch Dharma Meals are an ongoing series of yoga, meditation and vegetarian food events in Santa Fe, featuring local plant-based chefs in collaboration with healers and yoga teachers to create unique events that balance the mind and nourish the body. This month's Dharma lunch will begin with a restorative yoga asana and yoga nidra focused practice facilitated by Natalie Wohlstader and Andrew Fleisher, accompanied by a sound healing journey led by Rob Usher. Then participants will enjoy a delicious multi-course meal of Ayurvedic vegetarian food tailored to balance the qualities of this season, and accompanied by an introduction to basic Ayurvedic principles to bring additional depth and context to the meal. Schedule: 10am: Arrival and tea time 10:30am - 12:15pm: Dharma Practice Restorative yoga (w/ Andrew), yoga nidra (w/ Natalie) and sound healing journey (w/ Rob) 12:30pm: Ayurveda talk with Natalie 12:45pm: Appetizers Sweet - Ladoo sampler; digestion stimulating treats made from dried fruit and nuts drizzled with complimentary sauces Savory - Papadam style crackers served with a chutney sampler 1pm: Main courses Aromatic vegetable Biryani served with a spiced homemade cashew yogurt raita Saag with homemade paneer, stuffed okra and fresh chapatis, served with turmeric pickle 1:30pm: Tea time and wrap up Digestion aiding and kapha reducing spiced tea Additional notes: The full event will be held outdoors in a residential backyard under a covered patio space, so dress appropriately for weather yet comfortably enough for a yoga class, and please bring your own yoga mat, 2 blocks, 2 blankets and a bolster (or large pillow) if you have them. To comply with covid guidelines attendance will be limited to 10 guests. Additionally 4 floor-seating style tables will be provided to allow participants to sit and eat with enough space between groups, there will also be sufficient space for yoga mats to be placed at a distance for class. The meal provided is lacto-vegetarian, some dishes will contain high quality dairy products, such as homemade cheese and ghee from organic grass fed milk. The produce and ingredients used will be almost entirely organic.
