Description

Time to prepare for Oktoberfest by brewing our traditional Münchner Festbier. We'll show you how and get hands-on. Come join in. About the class This is a hands-on class. We will actually be brewing together one of our Bavarian-style beers. We will walk you through all the steps, teach you how simple homebrewing can be, and give you all the knowledge you need to brew great beer at home. If you can tell time, read a recipe, and boil water, you can make good beer. If you have patience, you can make great beer. We'll show you how. About the beer Münchner Festbier (Munich Festbier) -- Classic Märzen/Oktoberfest-style More amber in color than the commercial beers at the Oktoberfest, our Festbier is inspired by what you find at the various Fests held throughout rural Bavaria. This beer is brewed in March, why it is called a Märzen (März means March), and aged until the Oktoberfest. What you need to know The environment is casual, come as you. Wearing Tracht (traditional Bavarian attire is always encouraged, but not required). The class lasts 4 hrs and we start on time. There is lots of time for socializing and learning as there are natural breaks in the brewing process. As part of the class, you have access to the beers on tap (rotating) and to our beer stores. We ask guests to drink responsibly and hold a 3-pint cap for the class. Additional pints we ask people to make a donation. You also have access to our spirits (rotating). Food is available during the class from our Bauernküche (home kitchen) and is purchased as an add-on item to your ticket. All of our beers, spirits, and food items, and snacks are made in-house, in a food-handling certified kitchen. The class will be outdoors with proper social-distancing. We ask that you remain masked unless eating or drinking and you are aware as people approach the brew kettle, it will be hot and we want to avoid congregating or anyone getting hurt. Who we are and what we do Dahoam1516 is a private social club and school at an exclusive venue with a small private-label Brewhouse, Biergarten and Hopfgarten, and numerous cozy outdoor seating areas amply separated. We are not a restaurant, but we do pride ourselves on our classic Bavarian home-crafted beers and food and our friendly members who may be serving you. We offer small-format classes in home brewing and cooking with a focus on small-batch recipes and hearty Bavarian fare. We keep things simple, teach you the basics, and actually get you hands-on, so you can do this yourself at home later. We also offer select social events at our unique event space several times a year. Our classes are also available in a "we come to you" format for small groups. Great for an office teambuilding event or a unique extended family gathering. And our event space is available for rent for your special event. We are not able to sell alcohol or allow it off-premise. We do not have off-street parking. We are 1 block from the main public transit lines. We ask you to always be considerate of our neighbors. We close our doors promptly and ask when people exit, that they be noise conscious. The Fine Print Pre-paid e-tickets are required to enter.
