HARLEM, NY — A man punched a 2-year-old boy on the subway in Harlem on Saturday after the child's mother asked him to maintain social distancing, according to police.
Around 3 p.m. Saturday, a northbound C train was pulling into the 116th Street station when the child's mother asked the unidentified man to stay six feet apart, according to police.
The man then stomped on the mother's foot and swung at the mother and her child, hitting the boy multiple times in the face, police said.
The boy sustained redness to the face and was treated at Mt. Sinai Morningside Hospital. The suspect fled the station.
Police shared surveillance footage showing the man near where the assault occurred.
