Princeton Councilwoman Lambros Announces LD 16 Assembly Seat Bid

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Councilwoman Michelle Pirone Lambros has announced she will seek her party's nomination for Legislative District 16 Assembly seat. The district 16 seat is left open after assemblyman Andrew Zwicker announced his bid for the senate seat. Zwicker hopes to fill the seat left vacant after Kip Bateman announced his retirement. "I believe my business skills will be useful in navigating through the complexities of legislative initiatives," Lambros said in a statement. "I lead through collaboration and my impact on Council and the amount of progress we were able to make, during the most challenging health and economic crisis of our lifetime, attests to my ability to get things done." Jon Durbin, Mercer County Executive Committee/Former PCDO President said members of the Democratic leadership in Princeton approached Lambros and encouraged her to run. Lambros' platform for State Assembly is focused on economic revitalization, main street investment, tourism, transit, sustainable development, property tax reform and social justice. Through her platform she will also be highlighting improving family leave policies, expanding fair wage legislation, enacting liquor license reform, expanding the senior tax freeze, and funding small business revitalization efforts.
