Description

Press release from the City of Iowa City: February 23, 2021 The Metropolitan Planning Organization of Johnson County (MPOJC) is in the process of developing its next long-range transportation plan, Future Forward 2050: Connecting Communities. This plan will help guide metropolitan area decision-making regarding transportation improvements and investments extending 25 years into the future. The plan considers all modes of transportation and makes specific recommendations for transportation projects and funding for the communities of Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, University Heights and portions of unincorporated Johnson County. All who live, work, attend school, or do business in Johnson County are invited to share their input through an online survey. The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2050LRTP and will remain open until Friday, March 12, 2021. Survey responses will help inform the development of the Future Forward 2050 Transportation Plan, a requirement for securing state and federal funding for transportation projects. All responses are anonymous and the complete survey results will be available at a series of virtual workshops to be held in late March and early April. To find out more information about the Long Range Transportation Plan or view a copy of the current Long Range Transportation Plan, please visit the MPO website.
