LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Orange County Health Care reported an ocean water warning for Laguna Beach's Diver's Cove on Wednesday afternoon.
"Bacteria levels exceeded health standards," according to officials. During such times, ocean water contact may cause illness.
"Test results indicate elevated levels of bacteria exceeding standards in the ocean or bay waters at this location," officials reported.
Beach goers should avoid contact with waters in the area posted with warnings, "usually 150 feet upcoast and 150 feet downcoast of the sampling location," they said.
The levels of bacteria, viruses and protozoa decrease over time due to the following reasons:
