TUSCALOOSA, AL — Demolition began Tuesday on a longtime fixture of Tuscaloosa's retail economy as the McFarland Mall's property owner, Stan Pate, moves forward with a feasibility study for a proposed sportsplex and tournament facility at the site. Pate and District 7 Councilor Sandra McKinstry both spoke to Patch and other local media ahead of the demolition to discuss their vision for the future of the controversial property.
