Description
Avant-rock duo project with upright bass, cello, and voice interested in working with a tasteful percussionist or drummer with very percussive leanings. Not looking for anything traditional. Something unique, dynamic, and polyrhythmic in nature that would complement our style, while also independently representing an individual voice that contributes equally to the group. Use of percussive instruments and tools that can be integrated into/around a standard kit setup is preferred. Gigging and/or session musicians not preferred.
Some well-known musical artists we appreciate: King Crimson, Bela Bartok, PJ Harvey, Dmitri Shostakovich, Charles Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Velvet Underground, Dirty Three, Happy Apple, Slint, Gamelan music, etc.
We stand strong as a two-piece and aren't necessarily needing a percussionist (it's not a strict goal of ours), but are nevertheless, curious about adding an additional voice if the person fits well. We put a lot of time and commitment into this project, and would only include someone who is passionate about committing themselves to something as well (though we don't expect someone to commit to anything right away). It's all a matter of feeling things out to see if we resonate with one another musically and share similar ethos.
Please contact us if you're interested in discussing the matter, and include samples of your work if you're able. Those with careers and/or family commitments would not work well for this project. Those within the age range of 25-35 would probably be the most suitable, but it's not a requirement. Hope to hear from you!
