JOB WILL COME WITH HANDS ON TRAINING. EXPERIENCE WITH FLAGPOLES/PRODUCTION IS NOT REQUIRED. *Come join our Work Family! This role requires an adaptable self-motivated person, who is able to complete tasks as directed in a timely manner. The assistant will work with hand and power tools on a regular basis. This role requires collaboration between custom and flagpole department personnel, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of projects in addition to being able to work efficiently and independently on the job site. The Installer is responsible for quality control and ensuring zero defects on the final product. Installation Assistant: Timely and efficient installation of flagpoles, signage and vinyl applications in accordance with Ace Flag standards and processes. Production Assistant: Assist custom department team in various production finishing such as cut, trim and laminating projects. Ability to use time wisely to complete assigned tasks to meet customer deadlines. Building and grounds keeping on an as needed basis to ensure building safety, organization and cleanliness. The Ace Flag Installer and Production Assistant is a mechanically inclined individual who is capable of installing (and repairing) flagpoles, interior and exterior signage, architectural signage and vinyl graphics according to company standards and expectations. Compliance with all safety and OSHA standards and delivery of the highest quality of customer service possible. Critical Responsibilities Daily Roles May Include: ● Obtain work orders from Department Head (Flagpole and Custom Department) ● Determine necessary tools, equipment and supplies needed for the day’s work ● Off site: Load truck tools/supplies and arrive to on-site location in an Ace Flag provided vehicle. ● On site: load and unload Ace owned or rented machinery with necessary materials in order to complete work order requests within custom department ● Create and maintain the installation schedule so that job completion deadlines are met ● Assist custom department with finishing details on projects (cut, trim, laminate, etc.) ● Complete Ace Flag Installation as per work order instructions and in accordance with Ace Flag standards and quality requirements ● Coordinate with departments to ensure required materials are ordered and in-stock for each job Ensure all jobs are completed on time and within Ace Flag quality standards (dirt removal, rush orders standard lead times, Ace Flag quality standards) Arrive on the job in a timely manner (whether on site or in the office) EQUIPMENT HANDLING ● Determine necessary tools, equipment and supplies needed for the day’s work ● Load truck tools and supplies ● Ensure all Ace owned or rented tools, equipment and vehicles are cleaned and left in an orderly manner ● Gas tank in all vehicles should not be lower than ¼ tank at all times ● Vehicles must be kept clean and organized at all times. Routine inspection of vehicles will take place by Manager or Department Head to ensure company assets are kept at acceptable standards. ● Maintenance and upkeep of vehicle is expected, including exterior cleanliness ● Maintain a clean and organized tool and staging area ● Ability to dig holes manually with shovel ● Ensure work area is left in accordance with Ace quality standards ● Maintain outsourced equipment (lifts, track pads, etc.) to Ace quality standards ● Ability to accurately read ruler measurements ● Ability to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery (power tools, scaffolding, forklift, bobcat bucket truck, etc.) ● Comfortable with heights (climbing ladders, scaffolding, etc.) upwards of 50+ feet on a regular basis GROUND KEEPING and LABOR DUTIES ● Maintain exterior business and warehouse location (example-sweeping, cutting grass, etc. as needed) ● Assisting in keeping stockroom organized and safe CUSTOMER INTERACTIONS ● Arrive on the job in a timely manner ● Treat all customers, vendors and associates with respect and courtesy at all times ● Facilitate cross selling and upselling where possible ● At completion of each job, obtain customer feedback and insure client satisfaction ● Communicate effectively with key stakeholders including department personnel and customers ● Obtain customer payment upon completion and prior to leaving the job site, if needed ● Return completed work orders prior to the end of each day OTHER EXPECTATIONS: Clean Driver’s License must be maintained in order to retain this position Adhere to all OSHA safety standards at all times Manual labor required, lifting 40lbs on a regular basis Communicate issues and concerns to Department Head in a timely manner Ability to successfully pass a background check, physical and drug screening Core Values -Stellar customer experience -Exceptional integrity and honesty -Pride in work and personal accountability -Attention to detail Competencies & Qualification ● Effective time management skills ● Ability to work independently with limited input ● Complex Problem solving skills ● Good written and oral communications skills ● Exceptional people skills ● Highly Organized ● Ability to operate bobcat/machinery ● Ability to operate 40 foot bucket truck ● Proficiency with hand and power tools required ● Clean, Valid Driver’s license required ● Positive "can-do" attitude ● Ability to lift more than 40 pounds on a frequent basis ● Clean, Valid Driver’s license ● Travel within WNY area and Rochester is required ● Position is not remote ● Willingness to learn other jobs in the company to better understand company goals ● Flexibility with schedule as needed to the job requirements
