On-Call Maintenance Technician

Stone House Development Inc is looking for a full-time maintenance technician for the Madison area to assist in the maintenance and on-call needs for our apartment complexes. This is a perfect position for someone that is looking for flexible hours, including working for 30 hours per week but getting paid for 40. A $500 signing bonus will be paid to the candidate we hire after successfully completing 60 days of work. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in apartment maintenance or related field (carpentry, plumbing, HVAC). Candidates must be able to work on their own with minimal supervision. This position will provide guaranteed payment for 40 hours per week consisting of: 30 hours physically worked weekly and 10 hours paid automatically for being on call (even if no calls are received after hours you are guaranteed these 10 hours paid each week). The schedule for the worked 30 hours is flexible and can be determined based on your schedule (must be done between the hours of 7 am and 8 pm). For the on call portion of the position, you will answer calls Wednesday from 5:00 PM to Monday at 9:00 AM (you will not be on call during business hours Wednesday, Thursday or Friday unless its a holiday). Please note that all calls are first filtered through our answering service so only true emergency calls will be sent to you. You will then either call an on site property manager, a vendor or make the necessary repair yourself. Responsibilities · Respond to afterhours calls from the answering service. · Make any necessary repairs to remedy the problem. · Common area painting. · Vacant unit turnover. · Garage cleaning. · Miscellaneous common area upkeep. QUALIFICATIONS · Experience in apartment maintenance or similar position · Ability to utilize your time wisely and create a schedule to complete the tasks. · Customer service is a must and a high level of professionalism is always expected. · Basic computer skills to include email, online work orders, payroll entry. · Candidate must have own hand tools. · Possession of a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle for transportation during working hours.
