Description

Calling all pet lovers! Heaven Sent Pet Care is a professional pet care company that has been serving the Evanston, Wilmette, and Kenilworth areas since 1999. We are committed to offering professional and personalized pet care services to our clients in their homes. We are looking for dynamic, caring, and trustworthy pet lovers to join our expanding team. This can be a fun way to make some supplemental income, and is a great job for freelancers. If you are a self-starter, able to work independently, and LOVE ANIMALS, this may be the job for you! How We Work: Our services:This position requires sleeping OVERNIGHT in a client's home with the client's animals. Each overnight stay begins from the dinner period (7pm) and continues until the morning period (7am). Of course, most of that time you'll be sleeping! Overnight house-sitting with Heaven Sent: House-sitters are Independent Contractors for Heaven Sent. They are contacted for each House-sitting job that a client schedules, and may accept or decline each job. Clients are expecting the house-sitter to be in the home with their animals at least from 7pm-7am. During that time, the sitter completes simple pet/home care tasks, feedings, and takes the dog(s) out to do their business, but for the most part the house-sitter is free to spend their time in the client's home how they wish. (Our clients want their sitters to make themselves at home during their stay!) However, please note: You would not able to have guests with you at any time in the client's home. House-sitting jobs last anywhere from 1 night to 2 weeks (you must be able to do all nights in that house-sitting booking). On average, a typical booking for a house-sitter is 3-6 nights in a row. Compensation: The base rate paid to a house-sitter for each night of house-sitting starts at $32.50 for one dog. There are extra fees added on top of this base rate for additional animals in the home, holiday surcharges, etc. Most clients also pay generous gratuities for a job well-done! Generally, House-sitting is caring for dogs and may include other animals (cats, gerbils, fish etc). House-sitting tasks may include, for example, some of the following: taking the dog out for walks and to do its business (according to client profile) feeding each pet their special diet and maintaining each pet's daily routines spending time with each pet administering medication (when necessary) mail and newspaper retrieval We offer comprehensive administrative support to our sitters: We provide a professional work environment. This is a supported position and we are office staffed from 8am-4pm Monday through Friday for any questions or help a sitter might need. We also have emergency contacts for sitters, if an issue arises after business hours. We offer continuing training and tips for new sitters to become successful in this industry. Is this a good fit for you? We are looking for candidates who: Are organized, dependable, trustworthy, timely, and professional. Have great customer service and communication skills. Are team players who can handle last-minute changes and requests from clients. Are able to work independently and responsibly.  Enjoy walking with dogs outside in all four seasons and the weather that comes with them! (Rain, snow, heat, cold, wind...) Can commit to at least a 6-month commitment with us. Love Animals! You don't have to have had any animal work experience, but we find it is helpful if you have at least had pets of your own before.
