Responsibilities:
-Perform daily operation inspections consisting of monitoring process, testing product, sanitation verification, label checks, packaging verifications, allergen testing, and ATP testing. Includes performing microbiological and environmental testing.
-Maintain accurate and organized records Calibrate test equipment.
-Notify and consult with QA Manager on any deficiencies. Any serious or critical deficiencies notify Plant Manager or Operations Manager.
-Monitor and observe plant workers are in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety, job hazard analyst and other support areas to ensure work environment is safe, clean and productive.
-Ensures all non-conforming products are placed on hold and fully documented.
-Investigates customer complaints as directed.
Qualifications:
-Work standing or walking for most working shift
-Perform very physical duties, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting and walking
-Work in a production area with fast moving equipment, moderate to high noise levels and temperature changes; work in laboratory environment with instruments and chemicals; be on feet for entire shift.
-Preferred associates degree in Food Science or related sciences. In lieu of degree, experience will be considered.
-1+ years of experience in food manufacturing Quality Control
-Knowledge of HACCP standards and GMP practices
-Proficient in the use of MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
-Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
-Bilingual Spanish is a plus
