Chef Jason Patel is back in the Healthy Eats kitchen. Join Elaina from Healthy Eats and Chef Jason for Arepa Platters to please everyone! Chef Jason Patel is back in the Healthy Eats kitchen and this time we're making Venezuelan Arepa platters! Arepas are a delicious corn bread made from maize that originated in Colombia and Venezuela. These platters come with everything you need to fill or top the arepas from five yummy fillings to a variety of delicious sauces and sides, it's all amazing! In this event, platters are assembled, cooked, and the recipes 8 for you to make again at home. Pick up the platters between 4pm and 5:30pm and recipes will be emailed to you before the pick up time. You have the option of choosing from a large or small platter depending on how many people you plan to feed. Join us for this fun Venezuelan Arepa platters event to go! It's a unique event you don't want to miss! Menu: (large platter comes with 4 servings, small comes with 2) Arepas - Venezuelan corn flour bread (gluten free, dairy, and soy free) Fillings: Black Bean Spread Pan Fried Plantains Purple Cabbage Slaw Avocado Chimichurri Pickled Red Onions Sauces and Sides: Roasted Red Chili Potatoes and Carrots Hearts of Palm and Cauliflower Ceviche Three Chili Verde Salsa Red Tomato Salsa **Ingredients are gluten and dairy free unless indicated on the menu. Let us know of any food allergies we can accommodate for. **Order a large platter serves 2-4 people depending on appetite **Small platter serves 2 people depending on appetite Dishes are dairy free, most are gluten free, plant based and delicious. Please let us know about food allergies.  About our chef: Jason Patel had been the Executive Chef at Virginia Mason Memorial and currently a Culinary Specialist at the Humane Society of the United States. Jason has worked in a variety of positions at restaurants as a garde manager, hot line cook, pastaioli, Pastry Chef, Sous Chef, and Chef de Cuisine gaining a wide range of knowledge that he passes along in his training workshops. Focusing on plant-forward cooking fundamentals and techniques, Jason shows those in his classes that delicious food doesn’t always need to be meat centric. Jason enjoys football (Go Hawks!) and does plant-forward catering when the opportunity arises. Jason is on Instagram @movingplantforward where he shares photos, stories, and recipes.
