New York State has increased its state contracting utilization goal for minority-and-women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) to 30 percent – New York State has increased its state contracting utilization goal for minority-and-women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) to 30 percent – the highest such target in the nation for any state government. There are over $8 billion dollars in contracting opportunities. Certification as a minority or a woman-owned business qualifies your company for contracting opportunities that are otherwise inaccessible. This workshop provides guidance on how to navigate government contracting.  Supplier Diversity, Public Procurement and Not For Profit Managers are not only tasked with identifying qualified suppliers within the buyer diversity chain, but pairing them with opportunities that match their capabilities. The process of sourcing certified-capable firms is daunting and remains a critical challenge throughout the procurement process.
