General contractor is hiring a journeyman level framing carpenter for multi-unit residential/commercial remodel projects JOB DUTIES: - Read blueprints and perform layouts - Install framing according to seismic retrofit code - Framing: Wood mostly and some metal stud framing - Framing walls, door frames, ceilings, stairs etc. - Basic electrical and plumbing (removing faucets, installing outlets) - Installing cabinets - Able to cover the driving area of greater Contra Costa (mostly around Berkley, Alameda) MUST HAVE SKILLS: - 5+ years of Journeyman Carpentry experience - Experience on both residential and commercial job sites - Expertise in wood framing but knowledge of metal stud as well - Ability to read blueprints and perform layouts - Able to operate: Reciprocating saw, circular saw, miter saw, drills, nail gun - Reliable truck to pick up material as needed, with mileage compensation (preferably with rack) - Tools: Levels, tape measure, drill, nail bar, screwdrivers, framing hammer, square, etc. NICE TO HAVE: - Structural/seismic experience a major preference JOB DETIALS: - Rate: $32 to $35p/h - Full time/40 hours - Paid weekly - Typical work week M-F 8:00AM - 4:30PM References, drivers & background check will be required
