Nursery/Farm Assistant Wanted Walker Avenue Nursery, south of Sebastopol We are looking for a hard-working, reliable person interested in an outdoor job on a local family nursery/farm. The nursery specializes in pond and wetland plants. No prior knowledge of water plants or water gardening is required but would be helpful. We are looking for someone who is polite and courteous, has a desire to learn about our plants, is ready for outdoor physical work and has a good work ethic. For more information about us see WalkerAvenueNursery.com Job Includes: Watering, weeding, lifting, assisting with plant propagation, plant preparation for orders and assisting with on-site maintenance. Requirements: Must have a minimum of a High School diploma or GED and reliable transportation to and from work. Must be reliable, have the ability to follow directions and to work cooperatively with the others on the team. We work in all weather—rain or shine—during our prime season. Position requires ability to lift and carry 40lbs, to bend over and pick up containers of plants, to walk on different types of terrain (including shallow ponds), and to be able to be on feet for prolonged times. Some English required; some Spanish preferred. Preference for and Advancement Opportunities for those with: • Nursery and/or Landscaping experience or horticultural background. Work Schedule: Part Time, Tuesdays through Thursday with the possibility of full-time work. Hours vary seasonally. Hours decrease Nov-Jan, based on contract work and required maintenance. Exact hours can be flexible. Begins immediately. Negotiable pay rate depending on experience and skills. Entry level is $14 hour training rate, $15.20 after 3 month probationary period.
