Description

Country Music Hall of Famer Brings Unplugged Performance to Sit-Down-Only, Socially Distanced Show. Randy Owen, founding member, songwriter and lead singer of the country supergroup, ALABAMA, will make an extremely rare, scaled-down appearance at Jackson Hole’s iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar on Thursday, March 18. With eighty million records sold, forty-three #1 singles, and fifty-three gold & platinum records, ALABAMA is by any measure, the most successful band in country music history. And every step of the way, Randy has been, literally and figuratively, front and center for every hit record, concert appearance and award. As he has for four decades with ALABAMA, in the scaled-down configuration he’ll bring to this once-in-a-lifetime show at The Cowboy, Owen plays smooth rhythm guitar, tells stories and sings selections from the group's iconic catalogue. These hits include “Lady Down on Love,” “Tennessee River," “Feels So Right," "Mountain Music," "Dixieland Delight,” "Love in the First Degree,” "Song of the South," “Angels Among Us” and others, many penned by him. ALABAMA burst onto the national scene in 1980, and over the next twenty-two years, the band reeled off twenty-one straight #1 hits, a feat never equaled in any genre before or since. Across their career, they have won more than 250 industry awards, including GRAMMYs, People’s Choice Awards, American Music Awards, and eight times being named Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association. The band was named Artist of the Decade by the ACM in 1989, and Country Group of the Century by the Recording Industry Association of America. Randy is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Hollywood Walk of Fame. With a heart for serving others, Randy has spent his life supporting countless charitable causes. Most notable is his tireless work on behalf of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Country Cares, the fundraising program he helped create in 1989, has raised more than 800 million dollars.
