ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — As the coronavirus vaccine rollout enters its 11th week, Rockland, with 1.67 percent of New York's population, has received 1.7 percent of all doses allocated to the state, according to state and local data. At this point, 10.6 percent of the county's population has received a first dose. As the nation's death toll passes half a million people, the death toll in Rockland stands at 879 — 43 people have died of COVID-19 in the county since January. Meanwhile, Rockland County will receive 4,200 doses of coronavirus vaccine this week, and one county lawmaker isn't happy about how the state has distributed it. The county health department is slated to receive 1,200 doses, local hospitals are on the list for 400 doses, and the rest are promised to local health centers.
