Norwalk PD Seeks Help Solving Cold Case Disappearance From 1985

NORWALK, CT — The 1985 cold case kidnapping and disappearance of 19-year-old Norwalk resident April Grisanti remains unsolved, and the Norwalk Police Department is asking for the public's help in solving it. Grisanti was last seen leaving Anthony's Bar on Main Street in Norwalk at about 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 1, 1985, according to police. She had been involved in an argument with her ex-boyfriend, James "Purple" Aaron, who forced her into his car and drove off on Main Street. That was the last time Grisanti was seen, and Aaron was arrested on a kidnapping charge that month. He was convicted and incarcerated, and was released on 1991. He died in prison while serving time on unrelated charges, according to News 12 Connecticut's Marissa Alter. Grisanti was declared dead more than 20 years ago, and her sister, Gina Grisanti, made an emotional appeal for help with the case in December. "We are asking for any persons with any information pertaining to April's disappearance to contact Detective Daniel Serio of the Cold Case Unit at 203-854-3188," Norwalk police said.
