Sammy Imaedeen Hamed, 22, of Iowa City has been charged with Murder in the 1st Degree for the death of Quincy Russom. This matter remains under active investigation by the Iowa City Police Department, the Johnson County Attorney's Office, and the Johnson County Medical Examiner's Office.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The ICPD continues to request information from anyone who has information regarding this case. The Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects in these matters.
