Press release from the City of Cedar Falls: February 22, 2021 The City of Cedar Falls invites the community to view the Public Review Draft of a new Downtown Zoning code available at www.ourcedarfalls.com. The draft was presented at a special Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on February 17. Citizens can view that presentation and the full draft on the website and submit feedback or questions to [email protected]. The updated zoning regulations are an important step in implementing the Imagine Downtown! Vision Plan, which was adopted by the Cedar Falls City Council in November 2019. The plan was the result of public workshops that took place in 2019. The adoption of new zoning regulations will encourage development that is consistent with the community's vision for downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. The Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to make their formal consideration of the ordinance in late March through April 2021. Following their recommendation, it will come forward for discussion and consideration by City Council, tentatively in May-July 2021.
