RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Families of Santa Margarita Catholic High School ordered and picked up drive-thru dinners Monday at the start of this year's Giving Week. It happens every year at Santa Margarita High School. Parents and families were asked to help support the Eagle Fund with gifts of cash, employment, or gifts-in-kind. Those donations help the 25 percent of students receive tuition assistance, but every gift matters, the school says. "In the past 3 years, gifts of $500 or less have added up to over $200,000 in support of the young men and women at Santa Margarita," a spokesperson says. Funds help with supporting clubs, teams, organizations, and programs. The school annually asks for support with their Eagle Fund. This year is funding a new Health and Wellness program and a dedicated Health and Wellness center integrated with Campus Ministry ad Activities. It will also be used to enhance student learning and help support students and families in need. Since 2018, $9.8 million has been donated for tuition assistance. Also, improvements are planned for the 42-acre campus. "Our goal is to raise $400,000," a spokesperson said. Starting Monday, a $50,000 matching gift is in place.
